DocSample

License & Copyright

Last updated: 22 October 2026 · Effective: 22 October 2026

This page explains who owns what on DocSample (docsample.com): the documents you make are yours, the tools are free to use for personal and business work, and the website itself — its code, design and content — is proprietary. Open-source components keep their own licences, listed below.

© 2026 DocSample. All rights reserved.

1. Summary

  • You may use every tool, generator, calculator and template for free, for personal and commercial work, and you own what you create.
  • You may link to any page and quote short extracts with a link back to the source.
  • You may not copy or republish the site’s code, design or content, mirror or bulk-scrape the site, or reuse the DocSample name or logo.
  • Open-source libraries, fonts and AI models stay under their own licences.

2. Your files and the documents you create

Files you open in our tools stay yours, and because the tools run in your browser they are not uploaded to us. Documents you create or edit with DocSample — PDFs, CVs, invoices, letters, certificates, spreadsheets, signatures, photos and other outputs — belong to you (subject to any rights others have in material you put into them). You may use, sell, print, publish and share your outputs for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, without crediting DocSample. The optional “Made with DocSample.com” footer on some PDFs can be switched off in the tool.

3. Templates and sample documents

You may use our templates, sample formats and example wording to make your own documents, for yourself, your employer or your clients, and you may edit them as much as you like. You may not redistribute, sell or offer the templates themselves as templates — for example, uploading them to another template site, bundling them in a template pack, or using them to build a competing template library — whether in their original or a lightly modified form.

4. What is proprietary

Except for the third-party components listed below, the DocSample website and everything in it is owned by DocSample and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. This includes the site’s source code and compiled JavaScript, the design, layout and user interface, tool and page text, blog articles, guides, FAQs, SEO copy, templates, sample documents, data compilations (for example our arrangement of postal-code data), illustrations, icons, graphics, the logo and the DocSample name. No licence to these is granted except the limited permission in this page to use the site and its tools.

5. What you may not do

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • copy, republish, sell or redistribute the site’s source code, compiled scripts, design or content, in whole or in substantial part;
  • scrape or download the site in bulk, mirror it, frame it as your own, or republish our articles, FAQs, templates or data compilations elsewhere;
  • decompile or reverse-engineer the site’s code in order to clone the site or build a competing service, except to the extent the law expressly allows this;
  • remove or alter copyright notices, licence notices or attribution in the site, its code or its files;
  • use the DocSample name, logo or look in a way that suggests a connection with or endorsement by DocSample, or as the name of another product or domain.

Building your own independent tool that does similar things is fine; copying ours is not. Search engines and ordinary link previews may index and display our pages in the usual way.

6. The DocSample name and logo

“DocSample” and the DocSample logo identify this website. They are not licensed for use by others, except to refer accurately to the site (for example, “made with DocSample” or a link to docsample.com).

7. Third-party and open-source components

DocSample is built with open-source software, fonts and AI models. Those components are not covered by our proprietary licence: each remains under its own licence, and nothing on this page limits your rights under those licences. The full licence texts and copyright notices for all 360 production packages are published in third-party-licenses.txt (generated 2026-10-24).

Licences across production packages: MIT (291), ISC (26), Apache-2.0 (17), BSD-3-Clause (13), 0BSD (2), LGPL-3.0-or-later (1), (Unlicense OR Apache-2.0) (1), Unlicense (1), MIT/X11 (per README) (1), CC-BY-4.0 (1), MIT/X11 (1), (MIT OR GPL-3.0-or-later) (1), MIT-0 (1), (MIT AND Zlib) (1), BlueOak-1.0.0 (1), BSD-2-Clause (1). Some of these packages run only on the server or at build time and are not sent to your browser.
