Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026 · Effective: 18 October 2026
This page explains cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies on DocSample (docsample.com), what each type does, and how you can control it. Our document tools process your files in your browser, so this page is mainly about remembering settings and drafts on your own device — not about tracking your documents.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Local storage is a related browser feature that lets a website save information on your device for its own pages to read later. The practical difference matters less than the purpose: both can remember things between page views. Neither gives us the contents of a PDF you open in a tool, and clearing them does not affect files you have already downloaded.
2. Essential and functional storage
Some storage is needed for the site to work properly or to provide a feature you have chosen to use. For example, the website and its hosting provider may use technically necessary mechanisms to deliver pages securely, balance traffic and protect against misuse. A tool may keep your current working state in the page while you use it. These essential functions are part of delivering the page you requested.
3. Generator drafts in local storage
The Invoice Generator may save the invoice details and line items you type in your browser’s local storage under the name docsample-invoice, excluding an uploaded logo image. The CV Generator may similarly save CV details and the selected standard under docsample-cv. The purpose is straightforward: if you refresh the page by accident, your draft is still there. This information stays in the browser profile on your device; it is not sent to DocSample as a draft, not used for advertising, and not read by other websites, which cannot access this site’s local storage. Use the Clear control in the relevant generator to remove a draft immediately, and clear site data on shared computers.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics services help a website owner understand aggregate use, such as which tools are popular and whether a page is failing. DocSample should only use analytics cookies if an analytics service has actually been enabled for the site. If Google Analytics or a comparable service is enabled in future, it may set cookies and collect information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser information, and interactions with pages. That information would be handled under the provider’s terms and our Privacy Policy. If analytics are not enabled, no analytics cookies should be set by us for that purpose.
5. Advertising cookies
Advertising services such as Google AdSense can use cookies to show, limit and measure adverts, including adverts based on visits to this and other websites. DocSample does not need advertising cookies merely to provide its document tools. If advertising is enabled in future, third-party vendors, including Google, may set and read cookies as described in their own disclosures, and you may be offered choices or consent controls required in your region. When Google AdSense advertising is enabled on DocSample, those Google AdSense advertising cookies are used to show, limit, personalise and measure adverts, and Google’s own disclosures describe them in detail. This Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy must be updated to describe the exact service before advertising is switched on.
6. Types at a glance
| Type | Purpose | Example on DocSample | Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Deliver and protect the website you requested. | Hosting and security mechanisms used to serve pages. | Blocking these can stop the site working; browser settings still allow you to clear them. |
| Functional / local storage | Remember work or preferences on your device. | docsample-invoice and docsample-cv generator drafts. | Use the generator’s Clear control or clear site data for docsample.com. |
| Analytics | Understand aggregate site use, only if the service is enabled. | A future Google Analytics service or equivalent. | Browser cookie controls, provider opt-outs, and any consent control we provide. |
| Advertising | Show and measure adverts, only if advertising is enabled. | A future Google AdSense service or equivalent. | Browser controls, Google ad settings, and any consent control we provide. |
7. How to manage cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data. The exact wording differs, but the setting is normally under Privacy, Security or Site Settings. You can usually: delete cookies only for docsample.com; block third-party cookies while allowing the site itself; ask sites not to track you where that preference is supported; and browse in a private or incognito window so storage is discarded when the window closes. Blocking essential cookies or clearing local storage during a task may cause a page or generator draft to stop working, but it will not delete a document you have already downloaded to your device.
On a phone, look in the browser app’s settings rather than the phone’s general settings. On a shared or work computer, clearing site data when you finish is a sensible habit — particularly after using the invoice or CV generators, whose drafts persist in that browser profile until cleared.
8. Changes to this policy
If we enable, disable or change an analytics, advertising or other cookie-using service, we will update this page and the date shown above. Where consent is legally required for a category of cookies, the relevant service should not be used for that purpose until that consent has been obtained.
