Tables become real Excel rows & columns · one PDF at a time · never uploaded
Processed locally in your browser. Closing this tab clears everything.
This free PDF to Excel converter finds the tables in your PDF — ruled tables with borders and borderless tables lined up in columns — and rebuilds them as rows and columns in an Excel workbook. Amounts with thousands separators, currency symbols, negatives in brackets and percentages become real numbers you can add up, and dates become real Excel dates, while codes with leading zeros, account numbers and phone numbers stay as text. Preview and fix any cell before you download XLSX, CSV or ODS. Scanned PDFs can be read with built-in OCR. Everything runs in your browser — the PDF is never uploaded.
Convert PDF tables to Excel without retyping
Copy-pasting a table out of a PDF usually gives you one long column of text. This converter reads the position of every word and every ruling line on the page, groups them into rows and columns and writes a proper XLSX workbook: a bold, frozen header row with filters, columns sized to their content, and one sheet per page, per table, or everything in one sheet.
Real numbers, real dates — not text that looks like numbers
A converted table is only useful if Excel can calculate with it. Thousands separators (1,234.56, 1.234,56 and 1,23,456), currency symbols and codes such as $, €, £, ₹, Rs. and NPR, negatives in brackets, trailing minus signs and percentages are turned into numbers, and common date formats become Excel dates with a sensible display format. Anything that is really an identifier — invoice numbers, leading-zero codes, account and phone numbers — is protected as text.
Bank statements, invoices and reports to XLSX or CSV
Merge a multi-page statement into one sheet with the repeated page headers removed, export a single CSV or a ZIP with one CSV per sheet, or download an OpenDocument (.ods) file for LibreOffice. Because the work happens on your device, it is a private PDF to Excel converter for financial documents.
- Add one PDF (enter its password if it is protected)
- Pick Auto detect tables or Whole page as grid, and how pages map to sheets
- Press Convert to Excel and check the preview — click any cell to fix it
- Download Excel (.xlsx), CSV or ODS
- For bank statements, choose “All pages in one sheet” with “Merge tables across pages” so repeated page headers are removed and every transaction lands in one list.
- If a borderless table splits oddly, try Whole page as grid — every text line becomes a row.
- Set Date order to MM/DD/YYYY for US documents so 03/05 is read as March 5.
- Born-digital PDFs convert far more accurately than phone scans.
- Tables are rebuilt from text positions and ruling lines, so always check the preview: complex merged cells, nested or rotated tables, charts, images, colours and formulas are not converted. Scanned PDFs need OCR, which is slower and whose accuracy depends on the scan quality. Very large PDFs are limited by your device's memory — convert a page range at a time.
Is this PDF to Excel converter really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no page credits and no paid tier — the whole conversion runs in your own browser.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read, converted and saved on your device. Bank statements and invoices never leave your computer or phone.
Will numbers and dates work in Excel formulas?
Yes. Values like $1,250.00, (500.00), 12.5% or Rs. 1,25,000 are saved as real numbers with a matching number format, and dates like 15/03/2026 or Jan 12, 2026 become real Excel dates, so SUM, sorting and filters work. Codes with leading zeros, long account numbers and phone numbers are kept as text so they are not changed.
Can it convert a bank statement with many pages?
Yes. Choose “All pages in one sheet” and keep “Merge tables across pages” on: the header that repeats on every page is kept once and all rows are joined into one table. Descriptions that wrap onto a second line are joined into one cell.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes, with OCR. When a page has no selectable text the tool can read it with on-device OCR and then detect the table. It is slower, needs an internet connection the first time to download the OCR engine, and accuracy depends on how clear and straight the scan is — check the numbers before you use them.
Can I open password-protected PDFs?
Yes, if you know the password. Enter it when asked; it is only used in your browser to open the file.
Why is my table split into the wrong columns?
PDFs store positioned text, not real tables, so columns are inferred from alignment and lines. Try the other detection mode, then fix cells, delete empty columns or rows directly in the preview before downloading.
