DocSample

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026 · Effective: 18 October 2026

This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your files and information when you use DocSample (docsample.com). The short version matters most: our PDF tools run in your browser, so the documents you open are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.

1. Who we are

DocSample provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF and office documents, an invoice generator, a CV generator, and a blog with practical document guides. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “DocSample”, it means the operator of docsample.com. You can reach us at hello@docsample.com. Please use that address for privacy questions and requests.

2. Your files are processed on your device

When you merge, compress, convert, edit, organise, watermark, number or run OCR on a file with our tools, the work happens in your browser using code downloaded from this website. The file itself, its pages, its text and any images inside it are not sent to our servers, are not stored by us, and are not viewed by us. The same applies to photographs, logos and documents you add to a tool.

Temporary copies exist only in your browser’s memory while a tool is working. When processing finishes, your browser creates the result so you can download it. Closing or refreshing the tab discards the temporary working data, subject to how your browser manages memory. Because we never receive your files, we cannot recover, delete or inspect a file you processed — it was never in our possession.

3. Invoice and CV information stays in your browser

The Invoice Generator and CV Generator are also local tools. Details you type — names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, employment history, invoice amounts and similar information — are used on your device to build the preview and the PDF you download. For convenience, these generators may save a draft in your own browser’s local storage on the device you are using, so an accidental refresh does not wipe your work. That storage is controlled by your browser, is not transmitted to us, and is not shared with other visitors. You can remove it at any time with the Clear control in the generator, or by clearing site data for docsample.com in your browser settings. Anyone with access to your unlocked device and browser profile may be able to see a saved draft, so please clear it on shared computers.

4. Blog content and Supabase

Our blog articles are stored in a Supabase database and delivered to your browser when you open the blog. Reading a blog post does not require an account, and we do not ask readers to submit personal information to read an article. The database holds published editorial content — titles, article text, categories, tags and publication dates — not files you process with our tools and not drafts from the generators.

5. Information you choose to send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to reply, to fix a problem you reported, or to deal with the matter you raised. Please do not email us sensitive documents unless we specifically ask for a minimal example and you are comfortable sending it; in most cases a description and a screenshot without personal details are enough. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share email correspondence for marketing.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use the storage described in our Cookie Policy. In summary: essential storage may be needed for the site to function and to remember tool or generator state on your device; invoice and CV drafts use browser local storage as explained above; and analytics or advertising cookies are only relevant if those services are enabled. If Google Analytics, Google AdSense or a similar service is switched on in future, that service may set its own cookies and process information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and pages visited, under its own privacy terms. When Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve and personalise ads based on your visits to this and other sites; you can manage that in Google’s ad settings. We will update this policy and the Cookie Policy before relying on such a service, and, where the law requires consent, we will ask for it.

7. Third-party services that help run the site

We use a small number of service providers to host and deliver DocSample. Vercel hosts the website and, like most hosting providers, automatically processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type, requested page and timestamps in order to serve pages and protect the service. Google Fonts may be used to deliver fonts, which means your browser may request font files from Google and Google may receive technical information such as your IP address. Supabase stores and serves our published blog content as described above. OCR and font features in some tools may, when you use them, ask your browser to download language data or font files from content-delivery services; the document you are processing is still not uploaded as part of that download.

These providers process technical data under their own terms and privacy policies. We choose providers for a specific operational purpose and do not give them your processed files, because your files never reach us in the first place.

8. How long information is kept

Files processed by the tools are not kept by us at all. Generator drafts remain in your browser until you clear them or your browser removes them. Emails you send us are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and maintain a sensible record of the correspondence, after which they should be deleted. Hosting and security logs are kept by our providers for their normal, limited retention periods.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted, to restrict or object to some uses of it, and to complain to a privacy regulator. Because our tools do not collect your files or generator content, in most cases the only personal information we might hold about you is an email you sent us or technical records held by our hosting provider. You can contact us at hello@docsample.com to make a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time and explain any legal reason that affects the request. You also control cookies and local storage through your browser, as explained in the Cookie Policy.

10. Children

DocSample is a general document-tools website and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International visitors

DocSample can be reached from many countries. Our hosting, database and font providers may process technical data in countries other than your own. By using the site, you understand that those technical transfers may occur as part of delivering the website. The local processing of your files reduces this issue in practice: the document itself stays on your device wherever you are.

12. Security

We describe our approach in more detail on the Security page. No website can promise absolute security, but our main safeguard is architectural: the tools are designed so that the document does not need to travel to us at all.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site changes — for example, if we add an account feature, analytics, advertising or a new type of tool. The current version and its “last updated” date will always appear on this page, and significant changes will be described clearly. Continuing to use the site after an update takes effect means the updated policy applies from that date; if a change requires your consent, we will ask for it rather than assume it.

14. Contact

Privacy questions, requests or concerns: hello@docsample.com. Please put “Privacy” in the subject line so the message reaches the right place quickly.
