What “Europass-style” means here

European employers recognise a clear, fixed structure: personal profile, work experience, education, language skills with CEFR levels A1–C2, and digital skills. Our Europe standard follows that order, with an optional photo and optional nationality/date of birth only where an employer expects them.

Not the official Europass service. DocSample is not affiliated with the European Union or Europass. “Europass-style” means this free tool follows the familiar Europass CV structure; for the official Europass editor, visit europass.europa.eu.

ATS-friendly CV with free AI tailoring — no sign-up

Most employers screen online applications with an applicant tracking system (ATS). The generator gives you a clean, ATS-readable CV and three free helpers that all run in your browser:

ATS Check

A 0–100 readiness score with a checklist: contact details, standard headings, length, bullets, numbers, action verbs, dates, photo rules and file type.

Tailor to a job

Paste a job link or description to see matched and missing keywords and where to add them. Add a missing skill in one click — only if you really have it.

Modernize old CV

Upload an old PDF/DOCX CV to prefill the form, then accept modern wording one suggestion at a time — with optional on-device AI that never invents facts.

Honest note: these tools improve your chances of being parsed and shortlisted; no one can guarantee a result with every employer's ATS. AI rewriting is optional and needs a supported browser (Chrome with built-in AI, or WebGPU).

Made for applying in Europe

Europe (Europass-style)

Fixed section order, Profile heading, CEFR language table, digital skills, optional photo/nationality. Structured, often 2 pages.

Open with this standard

Germany, France & much of the EU

A professional photo is often expected — it is optional in the tool. Add nationality or date of birth only if the advert asks for it.

Open with this standard

Netherlands, Ireland & UK-influenced employers

Many prefer no photo. If you are applying mainly in the UK, use the UK standard instead — two pages, personal statement, no photo as standard.

Guidance is general — always follow the specific employer's instructions and local law.

How it works

1. Pick Europe (Europass-style)

Open the generator with the Europe standard already selected, so headings, language levels and guidance match European applications.

2. Fill in your details

Add experience, education, languages with CEFR levels and skills. The preview updates live as you type — on your device only.

3. Check, tailor & download

Fix the ATS Check items, match keywords to the job advert, then download PDF or Word and apply. No account, no upload, no waiting.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Europass CV maker?

No. DocSample is not affiliated with the European Union or Europass. This free tool follows the familiar Europass-style structure in your browser. For the official Europass editor, visit europass.europa.eu.

Is it really free?

Yes. Build, preview and download your CV PDF free — no sign-up, no payment, and no watermark added by DocSample.

Should I add a photo for a European job?

It depends on the employer and country. A photo is optional in the Europe (Europass-style) standard, so you can include a professional photo where it is expected, or leave it out. Always follow the specific job advert.

What are CEFR levels A1–C2?

CEFR is Europe's shared scale for language ability: A1 beginner, A2 elementary, B1 intermediate, B2 upper-intermediate, C1 advanced, and C2 proficient. The Europe standard lists each language with its level instead of vague words like 'good'.

How long should a European CV be?

A structured, concise CV is usual — often around two pages for experienced applicants. Keep dates and headings consistent, focus on achievements, and always follow the employer's instructions.

Will my CV pass ATS (applicant tracking system) checks?

The ATS-friendly layout is built to be read correctly: one column, standard headings, contact details in the page body, real selectable text with an embedded font (copy-paste gives the exact text), consistent dates and simple bullets — and the Word (.docx) download uses real headings and lists, no tables or text boxes. The built-in ATS Check scores your CV and lists fixes. This improves your chances; nobody can honestly guarantee a pass with every employer's ATS.

Is the AI CV tailoring really free with no sign-up?

Yes. Paste a job link or job description and the keyword match runs in your browser, showing matched and missing keywords and where to add them. Optional AI rewriting runs on your own device — Chrome's built-in AI where available, or a small open model downloaded once to your browser (needs WebGPU). There is no account, no paid API and your CV is never sent to a server. The AI is told never to add facts, and rewrites that add numbers or names are discarded.

Can I modernize my old CV?

Yes. Upload your old CV as PDF or DOCX; it is read in your browser, split into sections and prefilled into the form for you to check. You then get one-by-one suggestions: strong action verbs instead of 'responsible for', active instead of passive wording, a modern summary instead of an old 'Objective', and one consistent date format.

Is my CV uploaded or stored?

No. Editing, preview, the ATS check, keyword matching, old-CV import, AI rewriting and PDF/Word creation happen only in your browser on your device. If you paste a job link, only that link is sent so our server can read the public advert. Optional autosave stays in this browser's local storage.

Can I use it for the UK or US instead?

Yes. The same generator has United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada and Gulf standards — open the tool and pick a different global style if you are applying there instead.
