Free QR Code Generator – No Sign-up, Never Expires
Static QR codes with logo, colours & frames — never expire · 100% client-side, fast & private
1. What should the QR code do?
2. Design
A logo covers part of the code, so error correction is set to H automatically and the size is capped. The scan test below checks the real result.
Everything is generated in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server.
Processed locally in your browser. Closing this tab clears everything.
This free QR code generator makes static QR codes that never expire: no sign-up, no trial, no scan limits and no tracking. Create a QR code for a website URL, Wi-Fi network, contact card (vCard), email, SMS, phone call, WhatsApp chat, map location or calendar event, then style it with your own colours, rounded or dot modules, custom corner eyes, a QR code with logo in the centre and a ‘Scan me’ frame. Every design is decoded in your browser by a real QR reader, so you see ‘Scan test passed’ before you download a hi-res PNG, transparent PNG, SVG, vector PDF or JPG — or generate hundreds of codes at once from a CSV list.
Static vs dynamic QR codes — why ours never stop working
Many ‘free’ QR code generators actually create dynamic codes that point to their own short-link server. After a 14-day trial or when a subscription lapses, the redirect is switched off and every printed code stops working. DocSample only makes static QR codes: the destination is encoded in the pattern itself, we do not host redirects, so there is nothing that can expire or be held to ransom.
The honest trade-off: a static code cannot be re-pointed after printing and it cannot count scans. If you need to change the link later, point the code at a page you control (for example your own website’s /menu page) and update that page instead.
QR codes for every everyday job
Restaurant and café menus, Wi-Fi QR codes for guests and Airbnb stays, contact QR codes on business cards, WhatsApp chat links for shops, Google review links, event tickets and calendar invites, location codes for delivery drivers, product manuals on packaging, and payment or donation pages. Choose ‘QR code with logo’ and a frame label such as ‘Scan for menu’ to make it obvious what the code does.
Free QR code generator — no sign up, no watermark
There is no account and no email wall. Codes are generated 100% client-side, so your Wi-Fi password, contact details and links never reach our server. Download as many codes as you like for personal or commercial use. Need barcodes or sticker sheets too? Use the free barcode generator for EAN-13, UPC and Code 128, or the free label maker to print codes on Avery®-compatible sheets.
- Pick what the code should do: website, text, Wi-Fi, contact (vCard), email, SMS, phone, WhatsApp, location or event
- Type the details — links get https:// added and Wi-Fi/vCard characters are escaped automatically
- Choose colours, dot and corner style, error correction and quiet-zone margin; add your logo and a ‘Scan me’ frame if you like
- Wait for the green ‘Scan test passed’ message — your design has been decoded by a real QR reader
- Download PNG (up to 4000 px, optional transparent background), SVG or PDF for print, or JPG
- For many codes, open Batch, paste or import a CSV list, and download a ZIP or a printable A4/Letter sheet
- Keep a dark code on a light background — inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many phones.
- Use SVG or PDF for printing on menus, flyers, packaging and signs: they are vectors and never blur.
- Test the printed code with two different phones before printing hundreds of copies.
- A shorter URL makes a simpler code that scans faster from further away.
- Static codes cannot be edited after printing — to change the destination, create a new code. There are no scan statistics (add UTM tags to your link if you need them). Frame text uses a Latin font. Batch mode makes up to 1,000 codes at a time.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static QR codes: the website, Wi-Fi details or contact card is written inside the code itself. Nothing points to our servers, so there is no subscription, no trial and nothing that can be switched off — the code keeps working for as long as the printed destination exists.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
A dynamic QR code contains a short link to the provider’s server, which then redirects to your page. That lets you change the destination and count scans, but the code stops working if you stop paying (many ‘free’ generators deactivate them after a 14-day trial). A static code stores the final content directly, so it can never be deactivated — the trade-off is that changing the destination means printing a new code.
Is this QR code generator really free with no sign-up?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark, no scan limit and no paid tier. Codes are created in your browser and you can download PNG, SVG, PDF and JPG files for personal or commercial use.
Can I add my logo to a QR code?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG logo and it is placed in the centre. Error correction switches to H (30%) automatically and the logo size is capped at 30% of the width; the built-in scan test then decodes the finished code to confirm it still reads.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Choose Wi-Fi, type the network name and password and pick the security type (WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for most routers). Guests point their phone camera at the code and tap Join — no typing. Special characters such as ; , : and \ are escaped correctly for you.
Do you track scans or store my data?
No. Everything happens in your browser; we never see your links, Wi-Fi passwords or contact details, and static codes contain no tracking redirect. If you need scan statistics, add UTM parameters to your URL and read them in your own analytics.
What size should I print a QR code?
At least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in) for close scanning, with a clear quiet-zone margin around it. A good rule is 1 cm of code for every 10 cm of scanning distance — a poster read from 2 m needs a code around 20 cm wide. Use SVG or PDF for print so it stays perfectly sharp at any size.
Input: Text, links and details typed in the browser, or a CSV/Excel list · Output: PNG, transparent PNG, SVG, PDF (vector), JPG, ZIP of PNG/SVG, printable PDF sheet
