United Arab Emirates 5% (since 2018, Federal Tax Authority). Saudi Arabia 15% (since July 2020, ZATCA). Bahrain 10% (since January 2022, National Bureau for Revenue). Oman 5% (since April 2021, Oman Tax Authority). Qatar and Kuwait have not introduced VAT — Qatar has announced plans but no law or start date, and Kuwait's 2026–2030 fiscal plan does not include it.

Some supplies are zero-rated or exempt (for example many exports, international transport, some healthcare and education, investment-grade gold in the UAE and some residential property). This calculator applies the standard rate you choose.

Add VAT: VAT = net × rate; gross = net + VAT. Remove VAT: net = gross ÷ (1 + rate); VAT = gross − net. For 15%, the VAT inside a price is gross × 15 ÷ 115.

Rules were checked against these sources in October 2026. Laws change — if a source says something different, the source is right.

How do I remove 5% VAT from a price?

Divide the VAT-inclusive price by 1.05. The VAT is the difference. AED 105 includes AED 5 of VAT.

How do I calculate 15% VAT in Saudi Arabia?

Multiply the net amount by 0.15 to get the VAT, or divide a VAT-inclusive amount by 1.15 to get the net.

Does Qatar or Kuwait have VAT?

No, neither has VAT in force as of October 2026.

Can I make a VAT invoice?

Yes — use the free Invoice Generator, which adds tax lines and totals. Check your country's e-invoicing rules (such as ZATCA's FATOORAH in Saudi Arabia) for what a tax invoice must contain.
