Processed locally in your browser. Closing this tab clears everything.
This free online barcode scanner turns any browser into a simple inventory, billing and attendance station. Plug in any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner — it types like a keyboard, so no driver or app is needed — or use your phone or laptop camera. Count stock with every scan adding the item or increasing its quantity, run a barcode billing counter with VAT (Nepal 13%, UAE 5%, Saudi 15% and more), discounts and 58 mm / 80 mm / A4 receipts, log staff time in and out by scanning ID cards, or keep a scan list that checks EAN/UPC check digits. Import your product list from Excel or CSV, then scan barcodes to Excel, CSV or PDF. Everything stays in your browser: no login, no upload, no subscription.
Online barcode scanner for inventory — count stock with any USB scanner
Walk the shelves and scan: every scan adds the product or increases its quantity, with optional ‘ask first’ or ‘ignore duplicates’ for repeat scans, a qty-per-scan setting for cartons, search and undo. Import your existing product list from Excel or CSV (Barcode, Name, Price, Qty, Location columns are matched automatically) and export the count to Excel, CSV or PDF for your accounting or ERP system.
Free barcode billing software for small shops
The Billing / POS tab is a simple barcode billing counter for kirana shops, pharmacies, boutiques and market stalls. Scan to add items, adjust quantity, add a discount, choose VAT (Nepal 13%, UAE 5%, Saudi Arabia 15%, Oman 5%, Bahrain 10%, India GST 18%, UK 20% or custom) and currency, then print a 58 mm or 80 mm thermal receipt or download an A4 PDF invoice. Sales are saved per day for an end-of-day Excel report.
Barcode attendance and scan list
Print ID cards with a barcode or QR code, then scan them at the door: the first scan of the day logs time IN, the next logs time OUT, and a summary with hours worked exports to Excel. The Scan list tab logs every scan with time, barcode type (EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, QR…) and a check-digit test so damaged labels and typing mistakes stand out — and looks scanned codes up in your catalog.
Works with every scanner — and with none
USB and Bluetooth keyboard-wedge scanners need no driver: the page recognises their fast typing automatically, even when nothing is selected, while normal typing in text boxes is left alone. A ‘Test your scanner’ panel shows the speed of each scan and fixes common problems such as a non-US keyboard layout, Caps Lock, or prefix/suffix characters. No scanner? Use the phone or laptop camera, upload a photo of a barcode, or type the code.
- Plug your barcode scanner into a USB port (or pair it over Bluetooth) — or click ‘Use camera’
- Click ‘Test your scanner’ and scan any barcode to check the digits match what is printed
- Choose a mode: Inventory, Billing / POS, Attendance or Scan list
- Scan — no need to click a box; the page catches the scanner’s fast typing automatically
- Edit names, quantities and prices, or import your product list from Excel/CSV
- Export to Excel, CSV or PDF, or print the receipt on a 58/80 mm thermal printer or A4
- Most scanners end each code with Enter — keep that setting, it makes every scan instant and reliable.
- If the scanner types wrong characters (e.g. &é" instead of 123), your keyboard layout is not US: switch on ‘Decode as US keyboard’ or scan the USA-keyboard setup code in its manual.
- Import your product list once — names and prices then appear for every scan in Inventory and Billing.
- Export at the end of each day: the data lives only in this browser.
- Data is saved only in this browser on this device — export regularly and use the same browser. The camera needs HTTPS and permission; laser-only 1D scanners cannot read QR codes. Receipts are simple sales slips — check your country’s rules for official tax invoices (e.g. IRD-approved billing software in Nepal).
Does this work with my USB barcode scanner?
Almost certainly. Nearly all USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners (Honeywell, Zebra, Symbol, Datalogic, Inateck, Tera, NETUM, Scanavenger and unbranded ones) work as a ‘keyboard wedge’: they type the barcode very fast and press Enter. This page recognises that fast typing anywhere on the page, so no driver, app or setup is needed — plug it in and scan.
Can I scan barcodes with my phone or laptop camera?
Yes. Click ‘Use camera’, allow camera access and hold the barcode inside the box. It reads EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, ITF, QR codes and Data Matrix, with beep, vibration, flashlight and front/back camera switching. Browsers with a built-in barcode detector use it; others use the bundled ZXing decoder.
How do I scan barcodes into Excel?
Scan into the Inventory or Scan list tab, then click Excel. You get a real .xlsx file with barcodes kept as text (no lost leading zeros or 8.9E+12 numbers), plus quantities, prices, locations and times. CSV, TXT and PDF exports are also available.
Is this free barcode billing software?
Yes. The Billing / POS tab looks up scanned products in your catalog, asks for a name and price the first time a new barcode is scanned, applies discounts and VAT presets (Nepal 13%, UAE 5%, Saudi 15%, India 18% and more), shows change due, and prints 58 mm or 80 mm thermal receipts or an A4 invoice PDF. Daily sales history exports to Excel. There is no subscription or login.
My scanner types wrong characters — how do I fix it?
The scanner sends US-keyboard key positions. If your computer uses another layout (French, German, Nepali…) the digits come out as other symbols. Turn on ‘Decode as US keyboard’ in Settings, switch your computer’s input source to U.S. English, or scan the ‘USA keyboard’ configuration barcode in your scanner’s manual.
Will typing on my keyboard be mistaken for a scan?
No. A scan is recognised only when characters arrive a few milliseconds apart (people type 80–200 ms apart) and end with the scanner’s Enter or Tab. Typing in text boxes is never intercepted. The timing can be adjusted in Settings for slow Bluetooth scanners.
Where is my data stored? Can I use it offline?
In your browser’s own storage (IndexedDB) on this device — nothing is uploaded to a server and no login is needed. After the page has loaded once it keeps working without internet. Export to Excel regularly as a backup, and use the same browser on the same device.
