Overtime is paid at the normal hourly wage calculated on basic salary plus at least 25%. Overtime between 10 pm and 4 am is paid at basic plus at least 50%, except for shift workers. Work on the weekly rest day earns another day off or the day's wage plus at least 50% of the basic wage. Overtime may not exceed 2 hours a day, and total hours may not exceed 144 every 3 weeks.
The employer pays the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic hourly wage for each overtime hour. All hours worked on public holidays and Eid days count as overtime. With the worker's consent, paid compensatory leave can replace overtime pay. Overtime may not exceed 720 hours a year without the worker's consent (Executive Regulations, Article 22).
