The employer pays half a month's wage for each of the first five years and one month's wage for each later year, pro-rata for part years (Article 84). The base is the last wage — basic salary plus fixed allowances such as housing and transport; commissions and similar variable items can be excluded by agreement.
If the worker resigns, Article 85 reduces the award: nothing for less than 2 years, one third for 2–5 years, two thirds for more than 5 and under 10 years, and the full award after 10 years. Article 87 keeps the full award for force majeure and for a female worker who leaves within 6 months of marriage or 3 months of giving birth.
يدفع صاحب العمل أجر نصف شهر عن كل سنة من السنوات الخمس الأولى، وأجر شهر عن كل سنة بعدها، وتُحسب أجزاء السنة بالتناسب (المادة 84). تُحسب المكافأة على آخر أجر شامل البدلات الثابتة كالسكن والنقل.
في حالة الاستقالة (المادة 85): لا يستحق العامل شيئاً إذا قلّت خدمته عن سنتين، ويستحق ثلث المكافأة من سنتين إلى خمس سنوات، وثلثيها إذا زادت على خمس وقلّت عن عشر، والمكافأة كاملة بعد عشر سنوات. وتستحق العاملة المكافأة كاملة إذا تركت العمل خلال 6 أشهر من الزواج أو 3 أشهر من الوضع (المادة 87). هذه الحاسبة تقديرية وليست استشارة قانونية.

How is end of service calculated in Saudi Arabia?
Half a month's last wage for each of the first 5 years, then one month's wage for each further year, pro-rata. The wage includes basic salary and fixed allowances.
What do I get if I resign after 3 years in KSA?
One third of the full award (Article 85). For a wage of SAR 10,000 and 3 years that is SAR 15,000 ÷ 3 = SAR 5,000.

Is there a cap on the Saudi end of service award?
No — unlike the UAE and Kuwait, the Saudi Labor Law sets no maximum.
